Extrnal hdd prob

Hi. My external hardisk is segate 1tb ...when i remove it from its cover and attach it internally in my conputer it starts working but when placed back in its cover and attached through a data cable it does not works..... any possible solution?

Time for a new housing. Seems that the one you have now has failed.
You've tried a different data cable, to eliminate that?
