EYE infinity setup

Hi guys i have a HIS 5770 it has the following ports 1 HDMI,1DVI,1Displayport
now i have 3x 24 inch screens
1 connected via HDMI
1 connected via DVI and
1 connected via Display port to dvi (PASSIVE)
now i know i might need an active port for this to work but im wondering if i can get this setup with my passive adapter (i have read some articles were it has worked for them)
...now heres the issue when i try to setup (eye infinity ) 3 screens it only allows me to setup the 2 and not the 3rd 1 (is this due to the (passive) adapter)?
so could you please offer some in sight into this for me it would be greatly appreciated thank you so much

You can use a passive display port adapter only if you are running 1-2 displays. In order to run a 3rd you must use an active adapter. They are about $100 I believe. There is no way around this. There are a few articles explaining this but I do not have the links.

You also need an active adapter if you need a resolution over 1920x1200 as the passive adapter is single link only. (I am pretty sure at least)
