I want to begin with an appreciation for the post by 1Bravo that I tracked down and pasted below.

Last summer I had fun playing Neverwinter Nights 2 in my garage using a three-monitor setup (using AMD Eyefinity ), with three old, different 1080p 60Hz monitors. i7-4770 K @ 4.4GHz with 16GB DDR3 1600 ram an AMD Vega 56. The game would intermittently freeze or stutter randomly, and after trying at least ten different drivers, I did find one that worked. This spring I began playing in my garage again, and the driver stopped doing its magic. Eventually I came across this post. It wasn't a driver issue. Maybe the old CPU attempting to keep up with the newer GPU, but failing to do so on occasion. The fix worked, even with the latest drivers.

This may not help anyone else, but I wanted to post the fix. Three monitors on this old game is awesome.

I know some of you will know exactly what was happening, but this fix solved my problems.

TdrDelay = 10 Fixed my crashes since last patch.
Hi Guys, as many of us having many crashes since the new patch, I found this fix working for me. I'm not longer crashing playing in Dawnbreaker map.
This seems to be an old fix used for BF3.
  1. Simply go to your registry: Start --> Run --> Type in "Regedit"
  2. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" and create a key of type "DWORD (32-bit)" and name "TdrDelay" with a value of 10 as Decimal value.
  3. Reboot and play :)
In a nutshell it gives the GPU 10 seconds to recover/respond vs. 2 seconds (default).
