Eyefinity Setup Issue

I recently got a third monitor, and am attempting to setup eyefinity, my configuration is as follows;

1080p monitor (Mini DP to HDMI)
1080p monitor (HDMI)
1280x1024 monitor (DVI(Dual) to VGA)

I am well aware that this will not provide a good eyefinity experience, but I have a way to force the 1080 diisplays to run at 1820x1024 in order to match the vertical resolution.

A further bit of background, I am running to Radeon 7850's with the DP 1080p on one card and the other two on a second card in crossfire

The issue is that no matter what configuration I have them in, One monitor is not able to be added, and what confuses me is that the problem monitor changes.

Here's a list
(1 is DP, 2 is HDMI, 3 is DVI)
1-card A, 2+3 card B, display 1 greyed
1+2 card A, 3 card B, display 3 greyed

To elaborate further, if I only have 2 of any of these monitors plugged in at any one time, they will eyefinity just fine.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I've been at this for 15 hours and have found nothing useful.

sounds like you need an active display port adapters.. or you could try pluging them all on the dvi and hdmi and not use the display port. if the problem persist i think you would need the active adapter.

Could you elaborate on where I need the adapter?

or you could try to use 1st the dvi's then the hdmi for your 3 monitors

2 dvi on your 1st card and 1 dvi or hdmi on your 2nd card

or 1dvi 1 hdmi on 1st card then 1 dvi or hdmi on 2nd card.

Thanks, I think I kind of understand now. I'm using a passive adapter and that apparently won't cut it.
