Eyefinity Woes. Another Eyefinity Post.

I know that there are many posts regarding Eyefinity here @ TH. I have read most of them and haven't found a definitive answer that helps me get it working. Here is my current configuration:

Dedicated Graphics:
MSI Radeon R9 270 (2GB) (2 CG's assumed)

Motherboard/CPU
ASUS Z97M-PLUS
Intel Core i5-4570 (IG Disabled)

Displays:
1x RCA 24" LED24A45RQ (Link)
2x RCA 24" LED 24G45RQ (Link)

All TV's are same family, one 2010 model, two 2014 models. All set to 1920x1080. They only allow HDMI and VGA connections.

Extending or Duping a screen in CCC reports a disable is required. Windows simply wont, claiming it is unable to save the configuration.

Cable Layout:
DVI->HDMI (Passive) (Link)
HDMI->HDMI (Passive)
DP->HDMI (Active) (Link)

Windows reports them all as "HDMI" connections. CCC shows HDMI/HDMI/DVI. Would this be an issue as no more than TWO concurrent connection types are allowed in an Eyefinity setup. Can I force change one to a different type at all?

With the above setup, I am still unable to enable the third display in CCC or Windows. It shows up, but remains disabled. CCC reports one display must be disabled, and windows says it is unable to save the configuration. Leading me to believe I was either duped and it is not an Active DP adapter when it says that it was. Or that my cable configuration is causing a conflict.

You bought the DP adapter from a guy with +2 reviews... shame on you. I bet you were duped. Does the DP monitor work when it is plugged in by itself?

I was desperate and noticed that today and felt the same way (fool me once, shame on them, fool me twice, shame on me, as this is not the first DP adapter I have bought). The monitor works just fine by itself, and one will work when hotplugged, but the third one will not work even when off or hotplugged. OS detects it when powered on but will not give it a signal.

Works great but it is from VGA to mDP.

I am confused by your answer.

The monitor with the DP connection works when plugged in by itself?

Also the second monitor only works when plugged in after the computer is on?

Sorry. The DisplayPort Monitor and ONE other will work concurrently, regardless of the PC state. A third monitor will not, regardless of the PC state. Adapter says it is Active, everywhere I have found it. I would prefer sticking to HDMI as VGA is not very reliable for Eyefinity setups.

Quick note: When setting up Eyefinity, it will allow me to select the third monitor, but then all screens go to No Signal and a reboot is required at that point.

Well, it sounds exactly like your adapter is not active. The card has 2 shared clocks between HDMI/DVI/VGA which are being used. When the third card is plugged in there are no more clocks to share (because it believes it is still HDMI).

Well It allows me to pick the third monitor in the Eyefinity setup but then all three monitors say No Signal and I have to reboot to get them working again.
Current config is HDMI|DVI|DP from PC to the TV as HDMI for all three, so I don't know why the CCC would say HDMI|DVI|HDMI and Windows would not. It's as if, even if the adapter is Active, it is still seeing all three as HDMI, and isn't willing to display on any type of connection more than two at a time. I cannot do VGA or DVI on these TV's so my option is to get a better TV that does support DVI, perhaps?

I think I am going to try and grab a different, more expensive adapter off the AMD approved list and hope that solves this issue. Hoping I can get a refund from this guy.

I have had issues on my GTX 980 (never on eyefinity) when the computer would not even boot/display when I had the DP connected. When I plugged in the DP after boot it would display just fine. I fixed this by rolling back the drivers to the one on the card manufacturer's website and not directly from Nvidea. I would suggest doing the same thing. Try getting the graphics driver directly from MSI
