I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 2700X to a Ryzen 3900X. Supposed to be a drop-in replacement, but something's not working right. Folding@Home Advanced Control and Web Control both keep saying "Connecting" then "Ready" then flip back to "Connecting" again.

The log (when I can get to it) is filled with "error 997 overlapped i/o operation is in progress" messages.

Was working fine with the 2700X - This upgrade should have almost doubled my raw CPU power but something's not right! Has anybody else run into this, and does anyone have a fix?

What is your full system description? Did you verify you have appropriate BIOS support before swapping CPUs?

Full system:

Ryzen 3900X
Asrock X470 Taichi m/b
Gigabyte Radeon 5700XT video
Windows 10 64 bit

The problem showed on the BIOS 3.43 version, which said the Ryzen 3 was "supported."

I took a chance and upgraded to the latest, 3.90, and the problem seems to have stopped.

Try updating to the current BIOS.

That is exactly what I was about to recommend (update the BIOS).

All good now?
