Hello people!

I have a Clevo H251HPN laptop and I'm having a problem with my mainboard (as it seems).
When I turn on the laptop, it shows me the first screen, like always, which has the options F2 and F7 but then nothing else happens, plus when I'm trying to select one of these options, it seems that the option I pressed the button for gets highlighted but it doesn't do anything.

Any opinions?

I also found a manual for the laptop, but haven't found something useful or at least I don't know if I'm missing something.
http://www.s-manuals.com/pdf/notebook/clevo/clevo_w251hpq,_w251hnq,_w255hp,_w255hn,_w258hpq,_w258hnq_service_manual.pdf

Thanks in advance.

It's my pleasure to help you...

I hope your laptop can be repaired as quick as possible. If I were you, If the laptop was 3-6 years old. I'd choose to buy a new one rather than repair it.
Your call.

I still don't think that it's a keyboard problem since I already said that it gets the F button that I press and highlights that selection, but it does not enter to BIOS setup nor to Boot Options, and also it does not proceed to boot the Windows.

P.S.: I tried it anyways and, as I was expecting so, when I press either F button with the function key pressed, it does whatever function those keys have.

You can't go past that BIOS boot screen? Got stuck?
Did you got PXE LAN boot ROM screen or just a message that say "no OS installed" appear?
Did you try ESC, DEL, F12 or any keys that BIOS mostly uses?

Is your laptop warranty still valid?
If yes, you can RMA your laptop. Because BIOS problem can't be fixed easily.

Yes, I can't go past that screen.
Nope, neither the PXE LAN boot ROM screen, nor the message appeared.
Yes, I tried them all and still nothing, except one time that it proceeded to another screen trying to enter the setup, but then it froze again and I never saw this screen again.

No, the warranty is not valid anymore.

I tried resetting the CMOS by getting the battery off its slot, but I don't think it did anything, plus I can't find where the jumpers are for the CMOS reset.

Can you explain the "another screen" you get?
Did you get and read any message that appear on that screen?
What did you press before that screen show up? It must be something that you press before is triggering the BIOS to do something.

I'll try to examine the manual that you gave to me thoroughly.
See if I can find a clue.

The other screen was triggered by one of the Esc, Tab, F8, Del buttons (cause I was spam-pressign those), and on the top there was a logo of American Trends, and the message was "Entering Setup...", but after 10 minutes (or so) of waiting, I decided to restart the laptop again and again tried to spam those buttons but it didn't show up.

If it is an American Megatrends BIOS, press DEL key to enter it.

You might want to see page C-1 or 101 on your PDF reader.
You can try to update your laptop BIOS.
CAUTION:
UPDATING BIOS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, IF YOU DID IT IMPROPERLY THE ROM WILL BE CORRUPTED AND YOUR LAPTOP MIGHT REFUSE TO BOOT AT ALL. I DON'T RECOMMEND TO DO IT BY YOURSELF IF YOU DON'T CONFIDENT ENOUGH HOW TO DO IT AND WHAT TO DO IF FAILED.
you have been warned.

Hello again and sorry for the delay of my reply.

I thought about updating the BIOS too, but still, how am I going to update BIOS when I can't enter the boot options menu so I can change them to boot from an external usb/cd/dvd?

Ah, my bad!

Did you try pressing "DEL" when first boot screen appear?

Flashing BIOS directly into ROM chip is possible, but it need shopisticated tool to do. Some computer repair shop does have this tool, you can try to bring your laptop there. Or flash it from USB drive, I don't know exactly how to do it because every laptop has a different method. Try to search on internet...

I've tried several times pressing DEL button, but it does not seem to respond (except the highlight of the selection).
So I guess I have to replace my mainboard.

Thanks for you time, help and advice!
