Hello,
I'm working on a novel in Word and Scrivener running Windows 7 on an Asus UL 50 Ag A2, integrated graphics. No gaming here, just writing and research Can anyone say definitively whether the 16:9 ratio on a 23 inch, or 16:10 ratio on a 24 inch monitor ,is more advantageous for writing and editing two pages of a text document side by side? Does the answer change for a single page of text next to a Web page? I understand the 16:10 will show more text vertically, but in a side by side arrangement which monitor will yield the clearest cleanest view? Thanks for your patience and expertise. I've only got sixty thousand more words to go.

understand that we are splitting hairs here: there is not going to be a huge difference either way.

i would say 16:10 would be more ideal. once you consider the start bar, title bar and toolbars you are down to a 16:9 or 16:8 effective area which would be even less on a 16:9.

ideally you would have the start bar docked to the side or hidden for more vertical space.
