Factory reset wd my passport

My WD My Passport was disconnected accidently during a file transfer and now i cannot access the drive on my computer, it is available and becomes 'noticed' by my computer but when I try to open the device to view files it freezes and overloads my computer. Is there anyway I can wipe the device clean back to factory settings and hope that does the trick?

formatting should fix it. go to computer and when you see the drive letter showing for your WD, right click and format.

You should then be able to got to WD's website to reacquire all the programs it came with. Assuming of course that you want them.
