Question factory reset

returning an HP Laptop, going to eat the restocking fee. Need best way to clean it up before sending it back. I think a factory reset would be the best, is that correct? They will just reload all the apps that are deleted before reselling it, right?

Assuming it works, a "factory reset" brings it back to the condition it was when you first powered it on.
