Factory restoring to Windows 7 - would this work?

I upgraded to Windows 10 back in January, and I don't hate the OS, but is this theory I have thought up correct? My PC was pre-built and came with Windows 7. I upgraded, like I just said, to Windows 10. Using the "Reset this PC" option in Settings, could I reset my SSD - which has only Windows on it - and get back to Windows 7, or am I out of luck since it's waaaay past the 30-day period? Is the only way of going back to Windows 7 via system image?
