This is a relitively new PC, built about 1 - 2 months ago. However, the screen is much older, probably close to 7 years or more.

yesterday, my screen started to flash randomly... maybe once an hour or so and very quickly - Nothing but a flash.

Today, it started getting more frequent, and a little bit ago the screen even went black for almost 30 seconds. I tried restarting the PC, it flashed a good 5 - 6 times on start up, and after starting, looks faded. My black background almost look as if it has a white film over it.

I tried switchign out HDMI cables, it hasn't flashed for at least 15 - 20 minutes now, however my colors are still faded.

Does this sound like a graphics card problem, or my screen?

Solution
sounds like monitor issue as had same problem with current screen that I got from a customer because of the flashing\blanking problem. I replaced 2 of 8 electrolytic capacitors on the monitor's controller card & no problem since.

I've got no clue how to do that. It's a LED backlit, LCD monitor.

But there still hasn't been any blinking/flashing, which was my main issue. The faded colors are an annoyance, but as long as it doesn't start flashing again, I can probably get used to it until I can afford a new monitor.

I won't be returning to this, as it'll be a few months b4 I can afford a monitor of equal size, and won't picking an answer at once I'll have no idea if that's the problem until I either manage to get a new monitor, or until something completely quits working, whichever comes first -

However, thank you both for the replies :)
