Failed Hard Drive repair

I've got an old Samsung 1tb hard drive that just failed. My computer does not recognize it anymore, but it does spin up. I took to help with diagnosing this. Anyone know whats wrong with it/how to fix it?

It's dead for sure now! You can't open a drive unless in a clean room.

I am assuming this is a joke. Your hard drive is dead, it can only be opened in and industrial grade clean room with hopes of it working again. When you open a hard drive you basically kill it with the small dust particles, flakes of skin, anything that is in the air as there can be none of that between the drives head's and platter's. Yet alone manually moving the head. Just go throw that out in the trash now, it is completely useless.

Yeah I agree if it wasn't totally dead before it probably is now. Like said above hard drives are assembled in clean rooms for a reason, even dust particles can destroy that platter or the oils from your hands if you decided to touch it.

I realize all these things, but since I know all this, I don't mind with experimenting some things. So more specifically, what could be causing it to get hung up like that?

So I eventually got the computer to recognize it again, but it says bad disk. Not sure I'll be able to do much else at that point.
