I recently picked up a Samsung 850 series SSD to add to my computer. I had a 2tb harddrive and 120gb boot ssd but I wanted to get an additional SSD for installing games on. Basically my issue is when I'm in disk management and go to initialize the drive, it loads for 30 seconds-2 minutes then pops up with an I/O error. I tried initializing twice. I looked at the event viewer and see several warnings leading up to an error, but I have no idea what I can do with that information, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: this is the message for the error in Event viewer
"VDS fails to write boot code on a disk during clean operation. Error code: 8007045D@02070008"
and the warning messages leading up to it are:
"VDS fails to write boot code on a disk during clean operation. Error code: 8007045D@02070008"
"Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued." (this one was repeated twice)
"The IO operation at logical block address 0x0 for Disk 0 (PDO name: \Device\00000033) was retried."
"Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued."

If you would be good enough to supply information on your computer, motherboard, CPU, operating system, type and size of power supply maybe your GPU. This will make it a lot easier to give you a helpful answer.

I have been researching this, I keep seeing people say that error code means the drive is bad. If you bought it new you could RMA it back for a new one. If that is not possible you could try to delete the partition or partitions then create a new active partition using the whole drive. There are articles you can find here on Toms that give complete details, sorry I don't have links to them.
