Hi!

I recently made a new computer from pieces with the motherboard Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING Aura Sync RGB LED Socket AM4, 32 GB DDR4 RAM (4 x 8) Corsair Vengeance LPX CL15 3000 MHZ and AMD Ryzen 2700x... At first the frequency was 2133mhz... ok, I go to bios -> AI Tweaker and try to change it... after that the computer failed to start and reseted to 2133mhz... After that I change the DOCP profile to 2933 and 3000 mhz with 1.35v and the same issue... The PC can only start with 2660mhz and 1.35v but not always, from time to time fails to start and defaults to 2133 which is really annoying... Can you please give me some advices? Am I doing something wrong? I have to tell you that the bios is updated to the latest version 1201....

Supported memory configurations with four of four memory slots filled:
Single rank memory: 2133MHz
Dual rank memory:1866MHz
https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/amd/ryzen_7/2700x

Use of only two memory slots is recommended due to reduction in supported memory speeds with all four slots filled.
Hmm, makes sense... Do you think that it will help more (workstation usage) if I replace them with 2 memories of 16gb at 2933 mhz?

From ASUS web site:
AMD Ryzen™ Processors
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered

Note that anything above 2666 is considered overclocked. The fact that you bought 3000 MHz memory doesn't mean it will run. Overclocking, by definition, is running outside the guaranteed specs. Once you get into overclocking nothing is guaranteed.

Yes, 2X16Gb will run better than 4X8Gb.

From what I read on internet the difference won't be that noticeable... Thank you for your replies, it really helped me. :)
