Failure to boot

feeling quite noob-tacular on this 1
installed everything as it should be, went to turn it on and it wont boot. all the fans start spinning and the leds turn on then it shuts down. currently rebuilding the system to try and get this sucker to start up. help? please

Went through the checklist.
the best ive been able to do is spin the fan on the heat sync for a second.
no noises even trying to just boot with only the mobo, cpu and psu

You don't have a system speaker probably.

Are you sure you plugged in the 4/8 pin CPU power?

List all parts please.

no need man, cleaned the connection on the power button from the case and it booted
