Hello,

I'm new to the site so please forgive me if I made errors with creating a thread or posting in the wrong section and whatnot.

So, Here is my story. I have been troubleshooting this issue for about a month... It actually all started with the game PUBG. I started to get random freezes during matches it would vary from 15mins to a couple games. What would happen is everything would come to a complete stop and a loud buzzing noise would play out of the speakers. The keyboard and mouse become unresponsive too and the only way to move on is to turn the Psu switch off on the back or hold the power button for 5secs. Again this only happened in PUBG.

After looking for solutions online I went ahead and used DDU to uninstall and clean install my nividia gpu drivers I tried the latest and some old drivers that were known to be stable and the problem was still there. I then made sure everything was up to date (drivers, BIOS, Windows 10 update) and still no fix. When I check windows event log it doesn't show anything unusual other than the fact that it shut off unexpectedly.

I then went ahead and replaced my PSU since my older one had this rattling sound (probably a coil rattle) it seemed to work for about a week without any freezing, then sadly to say the problem came back to haunt me. At the time I gave up playing PUBG since I thought it was just the poorly optimized game creating the issue. I went on my way to play other games like Dragons dogma and Warframe. They all played well without any issues for a week. Suddenly I was hit with random BSOD mostly in game and a couple but rare just browsing online. The one error I got was DRIVER_LESS_NOT_EQUAL or something like that and some would not even tell me the error it would just blue screen then restart.

I tried to figure out if it was a hardware issue so I tested:
-CPU by stress testing it for a bit and also reseated the HYPER X evo fan
-Stress testing the GPU with heaven benchmark to my surprise it didn't freeze at all when it was under such load
-Reseated the Ram (also used windows memory diagnostics and it came up clear)
- Set the power options of the CPU performance max to 80% instead of 100%
-Checked TEMPs for both GPU and CPU and they weren't running too unusually hot.
-Tested with one Ram instead of two
-Fresh install of windows (wiped all my files)
-Running without any audio/ speakers connected
-Changed virtual RAM to fit my specs
- Made sure there is not dust build up, everything is pretty clean
-Tried a different wall outlet
-Made sure all PSU connectors were plugged in all the way/ no cords were touching the motherboard.

Nothing seemed to have solved the problem. I didn't think it would get any worse until one force shut down. When I tried to turn the pc back on it would turn on for a few seconds then shut off again then turn on continuously unless I hit the psu switch off or hold the power button for a few seconds. The only way for me to recover from that is to let it sit without any power or take out the CMOS battery of the mobo and wait a little put it back in.
Now that "on off on off" issue happens randomly I can start up fine most of the time but I still get that freezing issue even in the non intensive games now and sometimes when I'm just idle and moving my mouse on the desktop.. I'm pretty stumped id be glad to perform further test and provide more information. All the help is much appreciated! I'm just stressing out because I just had this build for about 2 months....

Hello,

So I have been trying to get the dump files but literally as I turn on the pc it does the continuous on off cycle.. I then tried with just one stick of ram and it'll turn on this time but as I get to the msi logo screen it freezes. I tried with the other stick of ram and the computer wont even give the monitor a signal.

It freezes too soon for me to even get into bios it seems I keep pressing delete.

The install came from a usb.

I see I'll use memtest when I get it running usually if I leave it for a bit without the power chord in it'll be able to start up
