so im getting ryzen 1600, msi b350 gaming plus and corsair vengeance ddr4 16gb 3000mhz next week and it will be my first upgrade to my pc so i need tips on what i should and shouldn't do, and what tools do i need? Will a multi-bit skrewdriver be enough?

Solution

Is the stock cooler unused/sealed?
Meaning does it have UNUSED thermal material on it already?

If the answer is yes, you can 'safely' use that.
If the answer is no, then you will need to get some Arctic MX-4 or Noctua NT-H1 or similar.

Yeah multi bits will be enough.

The number 1 thing is TAKE YOUR TIME!
Carefully followed by DO NOT PANIC!

If you really want to be careful get an Anti Static Wristband, they cost like $1.50

Also, plan everything before you put 1 single screw in.

Check for clearance.

Think about what order to build items etc

After your first build, you will wonder what you were worried about, seriously :)

We all start somewhere.

Edit:

Do not get cheap no brand paste!

so sould i get a slower 2666mhz ram instead since the 3000mhz wasn't on the compatible list?

everything is going to be brand new

Cool, its safe to use but personally I would get some "just in case"

Many a time I've had to refit a cooler and forgot I ran out of paste lol :)
