One runs it with the parameter "-D"

Assuming you're using Windows (Don't yell at me to remind me Falcon's
Eye only works on Windows or something, I can't be bothered to check):

1. Rightclick on the shortcut.
2. Click "Properties"
3. In the "Target" box, add ' -D' after '"[...].exe"'

Now, when you run the shortcut, and say "wizard" when asked for your
name, you'll be in Wizard mode.

Or, alternately, replace ' -D' with '-u wizard -D' in Properties: Target
to automatically set the name as "wizard".

In unix usually you must have a user wizard, (you can change it if you
compile nethack yourself) then login to this user, and do a nethack -D.

On linux, you'll probably have to add the options "-u wizard -D" to your
usual command line (eg "nethack -u wizard -D"). If you run from a menu,
well, launch a terminal and do it by hand 🙂

But this may not work for all (unix) users. You may have to be root to be
allowed to do this. At least, I have.
(Only user "roor" may access debug (wizard) mode.
Entering discovery mode instead.)

Hypocoristiquement,
Jym.
