Hello,

Recently I have been trying to play Fallout 3 again and every time I attempt to load my old save game it crashes before I can actually play. To clarify I am able to load the game into the main menu and do everything there okay, its just when I try to load the actual game it crashes.

I have tried multiple fixes already and none have worked. Some even made the game crash outright before even reaching the main menu.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, an AMD FX6100 with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia Geforce GTX 760. All drivers are up to date.

I have upgraded my system since I played it last but I have also tried starting a brand new game and it also crashes trying to do that. I am incredibly frustrated with this.

Check your pc audio output in control panel open sound, find your active device (the green checkmark) and go properties then advanced and check the output frequency, if it's too high it'll cause issues with bethesda games, set it to 24bit 48000hz and try loading your game again.

I just tried your suggestion and it did not change anything.
