Fallout 3 crashes when I select new game.

After browsing the forums for a while I decided to just post my problem myself.

I have a Dell Inspiron N7110 running Windows 7. I installed Fallout 3 added the d3d9.dll file. I made the Fallout_default edits for quad core. I'm running Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 version 9.17.10.2932. My attempts to update the version have ended in failure.

I was wondering if anyone had encountered this same issue or held any insight as to how to fix it.

If you google " fallout 3 intel hd 3000 crash " you get lots of fixes.

https://www.google.com/search?q=fallout+3+intel+hd+3000+crash&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=

Seems to have issues with Windows 7 x64 as well although I am almost 100% sure I have played it a few times on Windows 7. I used the beta of Windows 7 for almost a year before retail was even released and it has not been that long since I played 3.

pointless to ask here, doesn't seem like anyone has the answers. I hope it works for you I've grown tired of trying to fix it.

You did try the old install/run the game in compatibility mode right? Sorry I could not help more but I have not had the problem and without your computer in front of me it's almost impossible to find a fix.

All I can tell you is I would go down the list of fixes in the google search one by one.
