Fallout 3 crashes

bought fallout 3 from bestbuy in a combo pack with oblivian, and every time i try to run fallout 3 it goes to the menu, i press new and the game crashes, help mee!! i have an i3 and 4 gb of ram, not sure what graphics card but i looked at the specs and it has 1600 mb of whatever it does :/
