Fallout 3 GotY Edition freezing

Hey guys, I've been trying to find a source to help me with this problem, but I've had no help and or have had no solution. So basically when I start up my fallout 3 (I've tried this with and without mods, both of which acted the same way) and I got to the main menu, every thing is smooth here, right up until I reach Gameplay, as in if I start a new game, it makes it past loading and once it reaches gameplay it freezes. Now I've also been able to make it past the beginning and save on the character creation but there's a specific part in character creation where it also freezes and I can't get past it in anyway, much help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7. Look up "Fallout 3 Windows 7 Fix" on YouTube and that should fix the problem.

Have you tried setting core affinity to the first two cores. This helped me with fallout 3 crashes

It does Work on Windows 7, but not on 64 bit. I got it working by choosing to run the game on 32 bit mode.
