Fallout 3 Help

I need help with the PC version of Fallout 3. I'm trying to update it to 1.7, but whenever I try to do this is gives me this error:

"The ordinal 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link library xlive.dll."

When this failed I decided to launch the game to make sure everything was still working, but it gave me the exact same error when I tried to do this and failed to launch the game. When I uninstalled and reinstalled the game it would work, but if I try to update Fallout again it stops working again. So I ask, what is causing this problem?

OK, well this might not be a solution, and I dont know what is causeing the problem, BUT you could try using 1.6 patch instead because the only thing different between that and 1.7 is some achievements for one of the newer DLC.

Also you could check you are using the correct patch for your locale. I'm in the UK and I used the UK version of the 1.7 patch, but there are different versions for different locales.

Also you could try installing the latest version of Games For Windows LIVE.
