I plan to buy Fallout 4 on Steam, but I'm unsure if I'll be able to stably play it. Can anyone help?

Settings: Medium, minimal upper adjustments at most
Resolution: 1360x768

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-4130 3.8ghz (4 core)
RAM: 16GB DDR3 Corsair
GPU: (Soon, still awaiting delivery) GeForce GTX960 4gb
Storage: 1TB HDD (Not SSD)

Anyone able to help guess what my chances are? It'd be most appriciated!

Solution

With the 960 you will be able to play it at ultra in 768p (with very low GPU usage) ,framerate should also be ok even in very taxing places, even the celeron pulls off more than 20FPS in the most demanding places at high/ultra...
The game does have streaming issues though so while walking around it is possible (most probable) that it will...

Hi,
I run Fallout 4 lowest settings at a max of 30fps on lowest settings with a poorer processor than yours, and a much worse graphics card. You should get up to 45fps and higher. It takes exactly 25gb so that definitely isn't a problem.

P.S. Fallout sucks on HDD put it on a SSD if you have the chance.

Your processor is actually arguably better than the first generation bulldozer processor the OP has.

Not really I think, my friend's FX 6300 does a lot better on most games when we tried using a similar GPU. Athlon X4 is not great
