Question Fallout 4 causes black screen on MSI GE75 Raider

Alright, so I upgraded my laptop from an MSI ge62 apache to an MSI GE75 Raider 10sfs-226 with an RTX 2070 Super. The laptop is running sweet and most games are loading no problem. I'm trying to find out why when I try to load fallout 4, the game fires up but I just get a black screen. Nvidia drivers are up to date, tried reinstalling the game, ive tried editing the pref file in fallout manually, but to no avail. Forced nvidia panel to ensure it was using the dedicated card to run the game, didn't work either. I'm up for any suggestions or maybe I'm missing something here. Thanks!

Have you tried running it in windowed mode, and checking if the same thing happens on an external monitor/tv, via HDMI?

How to: You can select full screen or windowed through Fallout 4 Options menu, available from the Fallout 4 Launcher.

I've tried windowed mode, got the same problem there. I'll give the hdmi a try tomorrow.
