Fallout 4 FPS

Me and my friend have the same computer, Acer V15 Nitro Black edition, NVIDIA 860M Core i7-41710HQ 16 GB RAM. Basically he gets 60 FPS, doesn't go under on ultra settings, while I get 30-40 keep in mind we bought at the same time, but I use a pirated version, I am buying the actual PC copy but I d not want this to be an issue, I got the game vanilla, meaning no patches or updates. Any ideas as to what is happening?

you sure you both have exactly the same graphics settings, even in the advanced tab? also theres really no way to tell why theres such a large variation on the same machine without having both in front of an experienced technician. i would suspect your machine might be running a lot more programs in the background than his if your graphics settings are identical. that could possibly hold back your cpu and fallout 4 is a heavy cpu game. try a clean boot and see if you get an improvement.

also, in the advanced settings in the fallout 4 pre-game menu, turn off godrays completely.

You are using a pirated version. There is no way to know what's wrong with it or help you. wipe it, buy it, then ask for help if there's still a problem.

I got the full game and I still get 40 frames, godrays off.
