Question Fan Configuration for AIO

So i'm planning on upgrading to an AIO and i already have a cooler that i think will work exeptionally well for the price, the H115i Pro. My case is a NZXT S340 and i have heard that i should avoid 280mm rads at all cost but it is possible to fit it into my case and for me it makes most sense to use the 280mm rad because more mass means more heat capacity etc. I want to setup a pull configuration and i was just wondering will i need to use chassie fan headers or CPU fan headers. My MOBO is a Asus Prime Z370-P running the i7-8700k. Should i consider a new motherboard or just stick to the configuration and get the cooler. My cooler as of current is a very low end cooler the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo. My CPU is oc to 4.5ghz at 1.2v. I have 2 fans installed on the heatsink one pull one push, a fan at the back of the case as an exhaust and an exhaust at the top also. Any sort of help with this would be much appreciated as spending this sort of lump some on a new cooling solution, I will obviously want the best performance that i can get from it

"and i have heard that i should avoid 280mm rads at all cost "

Who told you this and why?

Push or pull for the fans with regard to the radiator does not change where it should be plugged into.
I watched a youtube video multiple where they have claimed that yes whilst you can fit the 280mm barely, you can only screw in the middle screws.
With regards to the configuration i know push or pull is no difference but the goal of that question was should the 2 fans be plugged into case headers or CPU fan headers, As i've been told they both operate in very different ways.

I don't have that specific case, but...

The specs say it can:
Radiator Support
Front 2 x 140 or 2 x 120mm
Rear 1 x 120mm
https://www.nzxt.com/products/s340-white

The install manual says it can:

Alright well im glad to see it will fit but back to the question. Did you see a huge increase in the thermal efficieny of your Cooling i.e lower temps? I've heard that in some cases the AIO really makes no difference compared to an air cooler

Your concern about which headers to plug the fans into tells me you have not read the instruction for your H115i Pro system. Do what it tells you.

The system is designed so that the pump runs at full speed all the time and sends its speed signal back to the CPU_FAN header. The pump unit also has a cable that ends in a SATA power connector, and it must be plugged into a power output from the PSU for power to the entire system. Then the rad fans are to be plugged into connectors coming out of the pump unit, and the speed of these fans is controlled to keep the CPU temperature correct. How? Well, there is a cable you must connect between a socket on the side of the pump and a mobo USB2 header. Then you must download and install the iCUE software utility from Corsair. That software does ALL the control of CPU cooling by manipulating the rad fan speeds, and to do that it uses the USB2 cable connection to communicate with the pump unit.
