I have an ASRock Extreme4 mobo. The header for CPU fan 1 is 4-pin and CPU fan 2 is 3-pin. When I work with the fan control settings in the UEFI, I can only control the two CPU fans as a group. Is there a way to control them individually?
I ask because I'd like to use the custom curve option, rather than a preset speed. But when I use a custom curve, only the fan connected to the 4 pin header gets power. As soon as I change the setting to "silent" or "performance" both fans kick on. (They are identical PWM cougar fans and both fully functional).
So since I'd obviously like to get use out of both my fans, I'm currently stuck using a preset fan speed, rather than a curve. Since I'd like quiet most of the time, I use silent mode but I'm not sure if the fans will react when my CPU temps go up. Do I have to choose between a custom curve with only one fan and single preset speed with both??
I appreciate any help!
