Hi:

AMD FX-8320 Processor.

I installed Cooler Master Hyper 212X Air CPU Cooler into my CPU replacing the stock heatsink that was issued with it.

When I booted my computer, I was confronted with:

"Fan error! press F1"

I played around with the CPU fan settings, setting it lower, but I am worried that perhaps I have installed the heatsink wrongly. The fan is working quite happily, the heatsink is secure and snug in place...but I had some trouble installing it, and the fan error has me worried.

I don't want to get lulled into false sense of security, use the computer, boom; I overheat and fry the CPU.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Is your fan on CPU working?
Check your temperatures with program like HWMonitor.
Check if fan is connected properly.

Dont worry - if the temperature will get too high your computer should automaticly restart.

Is your fan on CPU working? Yes! Checked both manually and visually.

My CPU seems to be sitting at 40 C according to HW Monitor

Fan is indeed connected properly
