Fan Full Speed

hello I recently installed a new fan to my PC which is going full speed even though i have no heavy processors Running in the background plus my CPU usage was around 1 and I have 10 GB of ram.

how is the fan powered?if it is not powered by a fan plug on the motherboard but rather by a molex or other source it will run at max.

Got you message use a 4 pins fan not the 3 pins

There are a few different things that could cause this, one is like they said if it's plugged directly into the power supply it's going to go full speed. Also certain motherboard plugs are going to by default go max speed. You can usually go into the bios and find the fan speed settings, try changing it to a lower speed profile or manually lowering the speed through there.
