Fan headers incompatible with fans?

I have two case fans which are connected together to create a single fan header. I try to connect it the the 4 pin port in my motherboard but no matter with what angle I put it in it is loose/won’t connect.

My motherboard: Asrock x370 pro4
Fans: the 2 included in the P400S

The fan header has 2 holes and 2 pins next to it, while the port on my motherboard has 4 pins.

Those fans need to be plugged into the cases fan controller, IIRC.

So where would that be? Is it on the motherboard, or?

The built in controller should be in the front panel connectors, actually come to think of it it might be the cable pictured in your link.
