fan hole on case, universal fit?

I'm looking at some ATX cases (e.g. Fractal Design Define R4), they described 2x120 or 2x140mm fan could be install on the top but not even mention any AIO. If motherboard/RAM clearance factor excluded, can I install a 280mm thin AIO (e.g Corsair H110) at the top? Both the fan and AIO should be sharing the same bolt holes, right?

Provided the aio holes are the same configuration/spacing as either a 120 or 140, then yes. I don't watercool but have seen several mentions of 120mm aio's fitting the top of the define r4, such as the h100i (2x120mm). People have done it without much issue.
