I bought a 3 pack of MF120r A-RGB Fans a few months back. I got it working with the small led controller but didn’t like that I couldn’t fully customize them. So I bought a RGB LED controller, I got my three front fans that came with the case connected but can’t connect the MF120r fans. There connectors have three holes and one filled in with plastic where as the controller has 4 prongs. Cooler master sells a “ADDRESSABLE RGB 1-TO-5 SPLITTER CABLE” mymy question is will that fix the connection issue or will it not work since it’s a ARGB fan and rgb controller. The case is a td500 if that matters.

Solution
So I posted a previous thread yesterday about the same predicament only this time it seems I’ve made it worse hopefully not though. So I’ll summarize tha main points. I have 3 MF120r ARGB fans, I recently got the RGB LED controller the original one from 2018 not the newer one, it had the logo light up in white on the front to better explain which one I mean. I haven’t been able to figure out how to connect them since it’s a rgb controller with 4 pin and the fans only allow 3 with the fourth hole filled in. I had a 3 pin laying around so I put that in the four holes in the controller chord then preceded to plug it into one of the ARGB fans, it glowed a solid whiteish blue but no other colors, so I took it off, I connected all...
Here's a video, start watching at about 3:30 and see if it helps you out a bit:

I have a differnt controller than the one showed in the video but the concept looks the same. Neither the asus or gigabyte chord when connected light up the rgb. I must have missed a step

The controller I have is this one. That’s why I’m unsure if I can connect ARGB fans to it. I tried using a 3 pin to connect it but it was just blue, now when I turn it on and off again it only shows one blue fan light. Did I just ruin the leds?

The third one didn’t seem to light except for one blue dot, mind you that is the one I plugged in the was the white blue color. Like an idiot I’m assuming at least, I was curious if I fried the rgb or if the pins were being dumb. So I plugged the 3 pins into one of the other three fans and then that one went whitish blue. I hooked them all back up to the original small controller and low and behold only one of them lights up normal while the other two I tested the three pin with both only light up 1 blue dot each. Did I just break the leds or could it be a rgb calibration issue? Is what I’m trying to do even possible seeing as they are ARGB fans and it’s a RGB controller? I know this is extremely long winded and kinda poorly written but I’ve been banging my head against the wall for two days with this and we’ve all been newbies at one time so I’d imagine you understand.

ARGB works at 5v and RGB at 12vDC, if you plug ARGB into RGB controller, something will fry.
