Fan keeps stopping then going

Everytime I start up my computer the fan will start up run then stop then run again.
Any ideas?

which fan? cpu? case? gpu?
could be just only on when it overheat.

Unless it's overheating or they are old, it's probably not an issue, check your fan settings in the BIOS. See if they are set maybe to 0 when the temperature is at it's lowest threshold.

Either that or check the cables are well fitted in the mulex/fan plug. Should be easy to do even if you're not an expert, just unplug your PC first.
