Ive had a 9600xt card for about 6 months now, and recently it has started to make a lot of noise from time to time. Its a built by ATI card. The noise doesnt bother me really, but im worried its going to break or something. The noise is coming from the fan on the card, im sure. Is there a driver update that could lower the fan speed or something?

You might want to look into some aftermarket cooling and fast. The vga silencer is pretty cheap.http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/vid-21.htmlAnd no a driver update wont slow the fan speed down.

You will want to solve this problem as fast as possible, as noisy fans tend to mean the fan is dying. It could just be dirty, in which case you will want to remove the card and blow the fan/heat sink off with compressed air.

If the fan dies, there is a very good chance that the card itself will die on you as well, because of the heat build up. It happened to a card of mine, only I wasn't fortunate enough to have an audible warning of fan failure, so I couldn't fix it in time.
