I just got a new mini 5v fan to replace my old laptop cpu fan as it was
making too much noise.
but the new fan has only 2 pin while the old fan has 3 pin

anyway i connected the red with red and black with black.
the fan is not running.

what do i hav to do with the other pin??
connet to black or red?

thanks in advance

The third pin is a speed monitoring channel. You laptop's fan controller
probably requires it to function correctly.

Since is somewhat of a crucial component, email your manufacturer or source
a alternate replacement.

You would have bought an exact replacement fan from your laptop manufacturer
?
