I need some help.
I'm planning on a build and need help with the fan adjustments. My case will have a total of 8 fans.
1x Rear Exhaust, 2x Top Exhaust, 2x Front Intake, 1x Bottom Intake, 2x For CPU Cooler.
The Motherboard i will be planning to use only has 5 fan headers. My question is, what is the better fan solution.
1) Use 3 4-Pin Y cables so I connect all my fans to the mobo, btw the motherboard has very good fan optimization.

2) Connect the 2 cpu fans using a Y cable to the Motherboard and connect the rest 6 fans to a fan controller.

If I go with option one, will that damage the motherboard? Because I would much rather prefer if the motherboard optimized everything.

Thanks in advanced :)

Looks like your board has 2 cpu headers and 4 case fan headers with an additional header for a fan extension controller for 3 more fans. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/specifications/

The problem with the fan extension controller is that ASUS does not sell them, you might get one on ebay. But what I might do is plug the CPU fans into the motherboard and plug the other 6 fans into a fan controller.
