Fan speed auto or not

Hey i downloaded msi afterburner and i got intrested in the fan control section i was wondering if i have it on auto is better then keeping it at an certain speed at all times. But does auto mean that the fan turns it self up when your pc is hot or does auto mean something else because if that is what auto means why would you not keep it on auto?

auto will have pre settings for temp so use it if your not on the tecky side manual that you set your own one but you have to keep a eye on it for the temp the other thing try to keep cpu fans speed on auto .

so that means that auto turns up the fan speed if its hot and if its not hot it turns down the fan speed?

You should leave it on auto.
It will move up and down with temps, and is a much better option than just setting the fans at a certain speed.
If the auto setting is not keeping things cool enough, then is when you apply a fan curve.
