The following is my computer specs (old machine):
https://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1014737R/1014737Rsp3.shtml
but also add in nvidia 9800 gtx+

Now, everytime I turn on the computer the fan just spins VERY fast, and no image pops up on the screen (nothing, no BIOS or anything, monitor says no connection detected, neither with on board VGA or graphics card DVI). Now before all this (been trying to install ubuntu) I went into BIOS and tried changing video configuration to PCIe, which is what the nvidia card is in, but then nothing showed up so I tried factory resetting motherboard (CMOS battery trick). AND then when I turned it on the fan got really loud, and no image popped up.

I know this is a very old post but this was my issue. I tried almost everything till I read this. I took off one stick of memory and the computer booted up. Thank you.
