Fan splitter for one fan header?

Can I use a Y fan splitter for my GA-H97-D3H? I’m using a gtx 590 and the card runs hot so I want to add another fan. My case supports it but I don’t know if my motherboard can handle it. The fans I want to use are two cooler master sickenflow X’s.

Generally, yes.

Most fan headers are 1A, and typical fans are in the 0.25A range. SickleflowX's are 0.35A, so a two-way splitter from a 1A header would be fine.

Yes that would work fine, I've used similar fan splitters in my builds.
