Fan splitting and power modulation

This Christmas I'm building my first computer with a i5-6600k and a MSI r9 390, and to avoid any overheating problems I am going to be using 4 fans to ensure good airflow. However, I do have a few questions about tackling this because I am using a MSI Z170A PC MATE motherboard and there are only three 4-pin case fan headers. If I use a fan splitter can I still control fan speed? If yes, can I assign different speeds to each fan after using the splitter, or will motherboard only be able to assign one fan speed per header. Furthermore, I don't think this will be an issue but I might as well mention it just encase. One of my fans is a AF140 while the rest of them are AF140L; will this be a problem in any way? Last, does anyone have a recommendation on which fan splitter to buy?

As a side note there are two 4-pin CPU fan headers. Could I use one of those as an outlet for a case fan?

Solution
The use of a fan splitter does not allow speed control. You need to check if the fan headers on the motherboard have four pins or three pins. If there are four pins present, then you can control fan speed even through the splitter. The motherboard will only assign one speed per header.
The slightly different model of your case fans does not pose any problems.
Do not use a CPU fan header as an outlet for case fans
Akasa fan splitters are decent, doesn't really make a huge difference in terms of what splitter you get
