So I was up late, minding my own business while downloading some steam games, and bam, my computer randomly restarts. I freak out, but don't think much of it for a few seconds. That is until I notice that the computer is on, it's powered, but no fans are spinning and my graphics card's light that illuminates the GTX 750 isn't on. I'm thinking this could be a motherboard problem, and I'm about to check my connections. Can anyone offer some insight into what this problem probably is?

Solution
Start by resetting CMOS. With the machine unplugged, remove the watch battery on the motherboard for about 15 seconds then put it back in.
In BIOS there is a setting to allow automatic restart after a shut down event, you can disable that setting which will then cause the system to show a blue screen error when there is an event like that. The blue screen error code can be used to troubleshoot the problem.
