I have been having this issue with my pc for about a month now, where when ever I would load a game all the fans in the case sound like they are slowing down due to there not being enough power. this has just been getting worse as time goes on. now its to the point where i can physically see them slow down. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Seasonic is the only brand I buy for my own systems. But Seasonic also makes a lot of power supplies that other companies slap their own label on. Every XFX power supply is a Seasonic made unit. Which brings me to an interesting recommendation... If you are in the USA, and willing to gamble with mail in rebates, this first choice is by far the best deal out there right now.

XFX Core Edition 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Non-Modular ATX Power Supply $84.99 - $35.00 mail in rebate = $49.99

If that does not work for you, maybe one of these will:

SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Non-Modular ATX Power Supply $57.99

SeaSonic M12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $65.99...

Your PSU is struggling. It is likely that it is undersized slightly (or of a lower quality), and is finally starting to show signs of giving out.

Can you monitor your voltages to see what happens to the 12V rail when this happens (with SpeedFan or similar program)?

the power supply is a ultra LSP 450w v2 professional series, running 2 case fans, 2 cpu fans, a fx 4300, gtx 750 ti sc, 2 750gb hard drives and 8 gigs of ram

Ultra is on our fireball list. We do NOT recommend using those things. And this is most likely the cause of your power problems. Ultra power supplies are junk. We have a Power Supply List here on Toms, and it breaks down power supplies into 5 tiers. The good ones are in Tiers 1 and 2, and then it gets worse until you hit Tier 5, which simply says this for its header:

Tier Five
Avoid IMMEDIATELY. These units are highly unsafe to use. No such protections added, very thin gauge wiring used, false advertising and too much to list. Reference to a higher tiered unit for a better, money saving and a much safer unit. For your safety's sake, please don't order or pick one up for use in your system. These units are a potential fire hazard and could even kill you, let alone your system.

What happened to this stuff that is listed on your profile?
Equipment: AMD FX-4300 OC-4.8GHZ / 8GB Adata XPG DDR3 ram / 550W XFX psu / EVGA GTX 750 TI SC FTW OVERCLOCKED/750GB segate, 128gb Patriot wildfire ssd / Thermaltake Versa case
