Hello
I purchased a Computer with a ASRock Z490 Phantom Gaming 4/ac.
Sadly the fans are all connected to the PS.
I switched one to the MB but no fan software could detect the fan.
Do I have to go into the bios and change a setting?
Thank s

Solution
Generally the fans are just made cheap and run full speed all the time if you want anything more than that you will have to purchase a fan controller generally about £30 that if they only have two wire's.

I'm not familiar with Intel boards but Z490 is somewhat 'top of the line' so I'd have to imagine them to come with fan control built into the BIOS.

And even super cheap fans will respond to DC control. You might not get them to stay spinning at less than 5V though, as that's were PWM fans are much better for setting very low speeds.
