[SOLVED] Fans for water cooler radiator hitting memory modules

I’ve got an issue with my new build. Due to the graphics card I can only mount my radiator on the top of my fractal case. The issue I have is the fans from the radiator hit my memory modules stopping me from installing.

The only solution I can see is If I cut off a corner of each of the fans it would allow me to fit the radiator with the fans attached as the missing corners give space for the memory.

Has anyone every done such a mod? Can anyone foresee any issues with my fans only connecting to my radiator using 3 screws each?

My other question is any tips on how I can cut the fans, it’s pretty strong plastic!

Thanks in advance

Paul

Not trying to stir up crap.... But I noticed on here people don't really like to go out of the box per say on such a subject.

Although I think you should start by providing your build info, such as exact model of case and motherboard. Some pictures would be outstanding help. Personally I would take an exacto knife, cut a line into the fan where I want to trim it. Then put it on a table flat, holding it down firmly, with the corner I want to take off hanging off the edge and crack it off with some pliers (should be fairly clean since the break will follow the line from knife). Now, if it's clear plastic you'll probably crack the fan housing completely. Only do this if you have cheap black plastic fan. 3 screws should still hold the...

Anyway, post some pics, maybe there's a way around it

Thanks for your reply. I can’t see how to add pictures, I am accessing via mobile. It’s a new build with the intel 9900k processor, gigabyte z390 Ultra, 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB memory, Samsung 970 evo and fractal define C case. I’m using the H100i pro water kit which has good quality fans. They are not cheap plastic but very thick black plastic. Certainly if I could easily remove the corners of these fans would solve my problem. I’m just not sure of the outcomes or how to actually cut them.
