I recently purchased an Apevia X-Harmony pc case that comes with two included LED fans. When powering on the PC the fans go to full brightness for a half a second, then have no LED whatsovere then saty that way. Have I hooked something up wrong? Do I need a fan controller? Thanks.

Are those stock fans 3-pin or 4-pin? Also, where the fans are connected? MoBo or directly to PSU?

Since what you're describing points towards stock fans being 3-pin fans and connected to MoBo. Thing with 3-pin fan LEDs is that the LED brightness is 1:1 to the speed of the fan. The faster the fan spins - the brighter it's LEDs are. If fan stops, LEDs also go off. <- that explains why LEDs come on at boot-up, since fans get the full 12V and spin 100%. Once your OS boots, fans won't get any power anymore, they stop and LEDs also go off.

The fans are 3 pin. I ended up just using molex power as that made them illumunate the whole time, so I think your explanation makes sense.
