Fans stop on 6GB Zotac 1060 AMP

My Zotac 1060 GT isn't cooling itself.

The system boots just fine. The 1060 starts with both fans running, and everything works as long as I am using only text apps.

Games will also run well, but somehow the fans stop running and let the card overheat to “way too hot to touch”.

At first, until I found that the fans were running fine at startup, I thought I needed a new third-party cooler. Now I'm wondering whether there's a weird cooling profile working that shuts the fans down at higher temperatures.

Any ideas?

Solution
When booting up, everything starts to test that they are working. Also, some graphics cards are designed to work fanless till 50-60c. If the fans are not starting after 60c, then there's a problem.

there are three solutions to that.
1. Sometimes the BIOS is faulty. Flash the latest one. Make a backup with GPU-Z just for safety.

2. Use a software to make your own curve. I recommended MSI Afterburner. You can set the curve then enable startup at boot.

3. If neither work, test on another PC. If it's the same, apply for RMA.
