hi guys... i was just wondering if this is a game problem?? i have two gtx 980's.. an asus rog VII ranger mobo and an i7-4770k cpu.

For some reason every time i play this game, it crashes and forces my pc to restart.. this can happen within 10minutes.. 5minutes.. an hour... or just 10 seconds.. i have tried different drivers.. disabling MSI AB.. there are no USB devices plugged in.. all is stock.. is anyone else having this issue or what the hell is going on???

PSU - Corsair HX1000i
RAM - 1866MHZ C11 Kingston hyperX Fury.
MoBo - Asus rog ranger VII socket 1150.
CPU - I7-4790k.
GPU - MSI Twin Frozr V GTX 980 SLI.
CPU cooler - H100i
case - NZXT 560 phantom.
SSD - samsung 120gb
HDD - 1tgb sata.

I have finished this game in a gaming laptop(as much as the term "gaming" can fit to a laptop)without any problems at all.You should check for compability issues with the windows not only with drivers. In addition many games deal some issues when you run them in sli configurations in contrast with single gpu configurations.

i have a fan profile so it runs 100% at 80 degrees. The top gpu is running at around 75 and the bottom hits 68 degrees. should be normal temps though right?

It just seems odd... i don't seem to have any problems with any other game i try to run.. how can i check for bad drivers ect??

Just about. Are you running any overclock? If so maybe try a reset to stock settings?

I personally think that first you should disconnect the sli bridge just to check how the game responces in single gpu config. After that you should check first with compability issues with the windows(may run with win7 if you have win8).But my believe after all is that the problem comes from the version of the game or the installation(if you got it from torrent etc).Try and make some google search for fc4 crushing problems in start up.

yeh... have been trying all at stock.. still the same results :/ i did just find that on CCleaner there was an application called shadowplay from Microsoft Corporation was enabled to open on startup... could this cause anything???

hmm.. yes i may try that.. the game is not from a torrent but might be worth trying out what you said.. i shall test it later :) I hope i won't lose my saves...

Im having the same thing. Although it started after i changed some of the graphics settings such as fur and such. try setting all the graphics settings to default and see if that helps. then change them one or two at a time. I believe there are still some issues gogin around even though the game is 4 months old

hey mate, i figured out the problem.. its just a driver issue.. if your using Nvidia anyway... go back to the driver which first came out with far cry.. and you will be fine 😉
