I have an AMD 8350 and a GTX 770, and I am getting lag while playing the game. It runs smoothly, but in some areas I get major lag spikes that do not go away, The game says with my specs I should be able to run this game on ultra no problem. I even tried putting my settings to medium, and still getting lag spikes there. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? Any certain settings to change that will help it?

Thanks,

Considering the EXACT same thing happened with FC3 it's not surprising.

The game specs indicate the AVERAGE frame rate but not periodic stutter. As said, it's likely going to only improve with a future GAME PATCH.

*I do suggest forcing on "Adaptive VSYNC" for this game. NVidia Control Panel-> Manage 3D Settings-> FC3->...

That will disable VSYNC if you can't output to the refresh rate or above (i.e. 60FPS). If you have VSYNC ON but drop below this it tends to stutter. In some games the engine even drops to a solid 30FPS if it can't output 60FPS.

You'll get Screen tearing though so I generally tweak to stay above 60FPS 90% of the time or better.

(You may want to try gaming with VSYNC OFF if you haven't. In FC3 I had such severe screen tear it wasn't an option.)

People are getting FPS hitching issues at all settings with the game, it is just poorly optimized right now, it usually takes Ubisoft a few months after a games release to have it running smoothly.

I do have it, I'm watching live streams with people that have worse PC specs than me running the game perfectly, I'm just wondering if it's me.. All my settings are on high and V-sync is currently disabled

Thank you! This fixed my FPS problem. I can run this game maxed out now with GTX 660 Ti SLI :)

This worked awesome...running great now on Ultra!! just upgraded from a gtx 660 to a gtx 970, i was beginning to lose hope, i have been tweaking every option available, this is the only thing that worked thanks for the tip.

Good to hear!

I love you so much. So much struggling with this these fps issues. Even had installed a new graphics card, messed with overclocking and everything. Thank you so much!!! And also, what exactly does DisableLoadingMip do? I'm quite curious ^^

Mip mapping is a method of loading lower resolution versions of far away textures on the fly so that your system doesn't have to load massive textures that you can barely even see yet.
